Great House Energy Centre Limited, a subsidiary of Renewable Connections, has been assessing an opportunity to develop a solar farm on land near Abergavenny in Monmouthshire since early 2020. If constructed, the project will generate enough electricity to power over 11,000 homes, and make a significant contribution to Welsh climate commitments.
Since early 2020, we have been undertaking extensive surveys and studies across the site. We also undertook preliminary engagement with the community and stakeholders earlier this year. Now we are ready to share our proposals and the assessments that have been undertaken in support of these designs through a period of formal consultation.
Consultation will run for a period of 8 weeks between 30th June 2021 and 25th August 2021. As well as our newsletter which has been sent to local residences, we will also be hosting two virtual community consultation events where we will brief local people on our proposals and answer any questions that people have.
